OK, it’s probably just temporary.
Last week I ordered 3 chicken strips and it wasn’t quite enough, so today I ordered 4, but they screwed up and gave me 12 nuggoids instead. They apologized and gave me the strips, and like the pig that I am I ate all of the strips and the nuggoids. Bleh. Next meal - lunch tomorrow at around 10 am, and I don’t think I’ll be hungry again until then...

There are 2 things consistent with every time I eat at Chic fil’a (way too often...kids choice).
1. I pay too much and get too little food
2. I leave feeling worse than I entered.

I honestly didn’t think much of Chick Fil-A before. I wondered how on Earth they were dominating fast food profit margins even though they are still regional and not open on Sundays.
That is until I recently. I had one of their Deluxe Sandwich Combos with Fries and a bunch of the Chick Fil-A sauces.
I have eaten there 3 days straight and love it. My God, some of the best chicken I have ever had at this price point, which is pricey for fast food. Their 4 piece strips were also amazing.
For fast food, I never thought another place would take over In N’ Out as my favorite, but Chick Fil-A has for me, so good!
I’m not sure if I can go back to eating KFC now.

For me, it’s all about the spicy chicken with extra pickles.
The nugs are generally my preference over the waffle fries for the side, too...

It is pricey, but it’s pricey for a reason, as you have discovered.
The idea of KFC makes me cringe. Whenever I think of their food all I can think of is lots of crunch (which hurts my mouth) with very little chicken flavor, and salt. Lots of salt. I think half of the secret herbs and spices are a combination of salt and MSG - pure sodium overload. I just can’t do it.

That used to be my go-to, but I’m trying to cut back on the carbs. The strips are my choice because of a better meat to coating ratio than nuggets.

I don’t get their chicken strips or nuggets anymore. Their chicken strips don’t fill me up and cost way too much, and their nuggets are very dry.
Their sauces are great and you can get the filets they put on their sandwiches by themselves.
Spicy Chicken Deluxe Sandwich or bust. And their sweet tea.

Ahh that makes sense. You could be one of those weirdos who get the sandwich with no buns. Or use lettuce as the bun.

I think there was a story recently of how much New York city patrons have embraced Chick Fil-A, with long lines of hungry customers.
It actually pissed off someone in the New York times who wrote a hit piece complaining about how liberal New Yorkers were embracing Chick Fil-A.
Goes to show how making good foot and having good customer service wins people over.

Coming from SoCal to the Midwest, I find myself in the odd position of being the weird liberal agnostic in a part of the country that, well, isn’t. I do live and work in the city, so there are a few more like me, unlike out in the ‘burbs or really out in the sticks. Yeah, I do have some reservations about the whole Sundays thing and the obvious religious leanings of those that run the company, but damn, good food and solid service wins me over.
I rationalize it by reminding myself that my old favorite, In ‘n Out, puts bible references on every cup and that, although I don’t care for that, product quality and service wins out and I really don’t have to worry about being swayed into joining any religion. All I ask of these companies is not to use their religion to discriminate against those that don’t believe as they do.

I go through periods were I get bored with their sandwiches and don’t have any for awhile. They just need more variety - bring back Grilled ‘N Lites, those things were amazing. Also, the chicken salad.

Like you, I need to mix up my ordering a bit lest I get bored. I did the salad a few weeks back and it was good, but that guacamole dressing was a little weird even for me, and I like weird. Perhaps I’ll try it again with a different dressing.
I’ll have to try some of the breakfast stuff. I assume that, being a company based in the south, they know how to make a proper biscuit. Good biscuits are worth their weight in gold, or lard. Just thinking about them makes me drool.

I was in Cleveland for 3 days and 2 nights this weeks for work, and I had CFA four times, still not burned out in it. Would’ve grabbed some in the way back home, but really wanted to get moving and drive nonstop from Cleveland to Sterling Heights. With traffic it ended up at just under 4 hours, no biggie. But I loves me some CFA. I’ll be hitting up the spicy chicken sandwiches next Tuesday night. Mmmmmm.

I work about two miles from the original Chic-Fil-A in Hapeville, GA. It’s called the Dwarf House. You think the sandwiches is good? At the Dwarf House you can get a spicy chicken waffle. Don’t say you don’t get the notion of a chicken waffle. It must be tried and it must be spicy with a bit of warm maple syrup. It will change your life.
One thing that impresses me about CFA is that everyone is hustling and the people are friendly. At work we had a chance to spend some time with CFA corporate HR. We asked to talk with one person. They sent the whole organization. We spent 2 hours with them and they brought gifts. They over delivered. The process to become a CFA corporate employee or a franchise owner is mindblowingly difficult and long. One thing to remember is that CFA is still a privetley owned family business and the Cathy family run it as they see fit.

I feel the same way about Chick-fil-A as I do about In-n-Out. I tried In-n-Out when we went to San Diego a couple years ago, and while they clearly use higher quality ingredients than most burger chains, they were just alright. I don’t get why people are so crazy about them.
As far as Chick-fil-A is concerned, as long as there’s Raising Cane’s and Popeyes there’s pretty much no reason for me to go there. Popeye’s spicy chicken strips are more addictive than heroin.

Half of the CFA experience is just the quality of the store and the service. I love me some Popeye’s, and can’t get enough of the red beans and rice, but it just feels so downmarket and dumpy in comparison. Dining out, even if it’s just fast food, should be a pleasurable experience, something I don’t find at most FF joints.
Raising Cane’s is pretty good, but I find the lack of menu options to be a limiting factor. If I’m in the mood for strips and there’s one nearby I’ll pop in, but I don’t go out of my way to stop in.

I feel that, but that’s because i’ll have spent 28 hours there by the end of tomorrow night. Eating the food almost everyday for weeks, even months on end, does get very tiring but it’s hard to pass on a 50% discount.
If you hadn’t guessed already, I work at a Chickfila

Well, I guess working there you know the ingredients and can whip up something a little bit different and experiment so you don’t get bored. A 50% discount would also make tolerating the same stuff over and over a tad easier.
